Mickmac ... been a donavan fan for long as i can remember, wish he hadn't dropped out of the public consciousness, because between his vocals and his lyrics, he's, dare i say it, a match even for Hunter ... i love his stuff, play him all the time ...

There's a Liebenthal, KS that's ab out 20 mi directly south of Hays on RT183?

So, Utah's canyons, huh? I remember waking up the morning after a night of driving into Grand Junction for the 1st time and being amongst all that red rock splendor & thinking---I'm HOME? The drive from GJ to Moab that morning was---to say the least---glorious!!! I wish I could've stayed, but "life" was/is back here in the east. Maybe when I retire?

You're right ....come to think of it west of scott city...about 3 hours from here...used to do oil field in scott...if it wasn't for the railroad way back when none of those towns would exist...its cool they do today...i live a mile south of a "city" of 750...grew up around boston however...and this is a big town compared to others around

Shit, I've got 750 people damn near in spittin distance here! Kind of sucks... I do miss the night sky, but on the flip flop, I don't have to go 3 1/2 miles for cigs, 4 for beer and 14 for anything else...

I don't see a Marienthal, KS listed anywhere on the map I have? The farthest city in western KS I see is Kanorado which is maybe a quarter mile before crossing into CO. I've driven through KS several times in my life on my way west to backpack in N & SD, CO, UT, & WY, and I always loved the loneliness & relative emptiness of the hwy's. After Topeka it was about 6-8 hours of practically NOTHING until the outskirts of Denver. Living here just west of Balimore & north of DC, traffic is almost ALWAYS a nightmare. Anyway, just wanted find this Marienthal place to satisfy my hard-on for maps & places.

I've never been there myself... My understanding is that it's about 30 miles from the Colo border, pretty much east of Denver...
